Description

Registered Nurse - Obstetrics Inpatient

Location: Urbana, Illinois
Employment Type: Clinical Nursing
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Perform all nursing responsibilities specific to the obstetrics inpatient unit.
Implement procedures and theories related to obstetric nursing care.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of nursing care.
Complete initial patient assessments upon admission and develop appropriate plans of care based on patient and family needs.
Implement and modify plans of care through continuous evaluation.
Ensure patient and employee safety by identifying and addressing hazards.
Communicate effectively with healthcare team members to resolve issues.
Provide constructive feedback to peers and engage in professional development.
Perform patient assessments and provide infant care.
Administer medications as ordered by physicians.
Document all care in the electronic medical record (EMR).
Fulfill all departmental competency requirements.

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Minimum 3 years of obstetrics inpatient nursing experience, including maternal-newborn care
Maternal-newborn nursing experience within the last year
Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients (Trauma 1 experience)
OB/GYN nursing experience
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
Experience with Epic electronic medical record system

No prior travel experience required.
