Job Summary

Provide timely, accurate, and reliable respiratory therapy services for inpatients, outpatients, staff, and affiliated community groups.

Job Responsibilities

• Administer respiratory therapy procedures as directed.
• Perform Aerosol Therapy, CPT/Flutter/PEP Mask therapy, Incentive Spirometry, M.D.I. therapy, Suctioning, and Extubation.
• Ensure Oxygen Tank Safety and administer Oxygen Therapy on approved devices.
• Manage BiPAP-CPAP therapy and alarms.
• Perform Cough Assist/Vest therapy.
• Manage High Flow Cannula/Humidifier therapy and alarms.
• Conduct Pulmonary Function Screen diagnostics.
• Perform Fit Testing in coordination with Employee Health.
• Conduct Pulse Oximetry, Adult, Pediatric, and Neonatal EKG procedures.
• Provide Adult, Pediatric, and Neonatal BLS life support.
• Manage Mechanical Ventilation and ventilator alarms.
• Perform Arterial Puncture and Blood Gas analysis and quality control.
• Manage patient healthcare information systems and medication administration/dispensing programs.
• Verify physician orders for pulmonary and cardiology procedures.
• Record and report procedure results accurately.
• Maintain files and bookkeeping per department policy.
• Assist in departmental in-service programs and perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in New York
• New York State Respiratory Therapy Permit or License
• Registered Respiratory Therapist credential from the NBRC
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Minimum of 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
• Up to 3 years of respiratory therapy experience
• Critical care experience
• NICU experience
• Experience with Epic healthcare information system
