Job Opportunity: MRI Tech

Location: Hackensack, New Jersey

Contract Length: 15 weeks

Job Summary

Under the direction of a qualified physician, perform a variety of technical MRI procedures requiring minimal independent magnetic pulses for disease diagnosis.

Essential Job Functions

• Prepare and perform MRI procedures with a minimum of 99% accuracy, following department standards.
• Schedule appropriate time for each patient and review requisitions regularly.
• Prepare all opaque contrast media with 100% accuracy.
• Process images within 30 minutes after examination completion.
• Translate physician's orders into appropriate radiographic procedures with at least 99% accuracy.
• Maintain patient logs and equipment downtime records.
• Collaborate with radiologists to develop imaging protocols for optimal studies.
• Assume charge technologist responsibilities as needed, including report preparation and work activity distribution.
• Respond promptly to all “stat” and emergency studies.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work environment, following all safety and hygiene procedures.
• Maintain productivity within 20% of the monthly average for the modality (exceptions for low-volume shifts).
• Deliver excellent customer service to improve patient satisfaction scores.
• Monitor inventory and supplies, notifying supervisors of replacement needs with at least 95% accuracy.
• Charge patient exams as needed and ensure all charges are properly recorded.
• Safely transport patients to and from the department and other areas.
• Identify and troubleshoot machine malfunctions, reporting to senior technologists.
• Assist patients and families throughout their stay.
• Assist with duties of absent employees within the MRI area and cross-train in other areas if applicable.
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
• Adhere to organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Required Qualifications

Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience as an MRI Technologist, including experience within the last year.

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Certifications & Licensure

• New Jersey State MRI License required.
• AART (MRI) certification required.
• ARRT certification required.
