Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Operating Room Pediatrics

Job Summary

Provide competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards in a hospital setting. Responsible for coordinating and delivering patient care using the nursing process, reporting to nursing leadership.

Essential Duties

• Participate in ongoing education to meet learning needs.
• Use patient education materials appropriate to pediatric patients and assess readiness to learn.
• Identify expected patient outcomes and participate in interdisciplinary team discussions.
• Deliver care to patients with complex problems, addressing physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs.
• Perform bedside point of care testing as required.
• Organize and prioritize care based on patient and family needs.
• Consult resources timely for complex care issues and discharge planning.
• Support professional growth and participate in unit goals and performance improvement.
• Promote a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment.
• Assess and anticipate discharge needs, fostering family advocacy.
• Collaborate with patients and families to plan care, considering cultural and ethnic factors.
• Prioritize tasks for patients with complex problems.
• Engage with current research applicable to nursing practice.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina.
• One (1) year of nursing experience.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited school of Nursing.
• One (1) year of recent experience working in Pediatric Operating Room (OR) nursing.
• Experience working with pediatric patients.
• Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC).
