X-Ray Technician (0-2 Years) - Contract
Location
- New York, NY
Job Summary
Operate radiologic and magnetic imaging equipment to produce diagnostic images. Prepare patients for radiological procedures while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Establish rapport with patients to understand service needs and reduce anxieties by explaining treatments and answering questions.
- Position patients and adjust immobilization devices and equipment controls for radiological procedures.
- Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize exposure to patients and staff.
- Follow infection control policies and procedures.
- Maintain quality and production of radiographs by processing images and making necessary adjustments.
- Document patient care services and verify exam completion.
- Perform preventive maintenance on radiology equipment and troubleshoot malfunctions.
- Manage radiology supplies inventory.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
- Complete yearly Age Specific Competency.
- Participate in continuing education and professional development activities.
- Contribute to team efforts and perform other relevant duties as assigned.
Shift & Hours
- Varied shifts between 7:30 AM and 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
- Approximately 7 hours per day, 37.5 hours per week.
- Float between two locations: Orthopedics and Spine departments.
Contract Length
- 14 weeks
Required Qualifications
- Valid Radiology Technologist license in New York (L.R.T).
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of Radiology Technologist experience, including experience within the last year.
- Experience as an X-Ray Technician.
Experience
- 2 years of recent experience as an X-Ray Technician.

- No prior travel experience required.
