X-Ray Technician (0-2 Years) - Contract

Job Summary

Operate radiologic and magnetic imaging equipment to produce diagnostic images. Prepare patients for radiological procedures while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Establish rapport with patients to understand service needs and reduce anxieties by explaining treatments and answering questions.
• Position patients and adjust immobilization devices and equipment controls for radiological procedures.
• Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize exposure to patients and staff.
• Follow infection control policies and procedures.
• Maintain quality and production of radiographs by processing images and making necessary adjustments.
• Document patient care services and verify exam completion.
• Perform preventive maintenance on radiology equipment and troubleshoot malfunctions.
• Manage radiology supplies inventory.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
• Complete yearly Age Specific Competency.
• Participate in continuing education and professional development activities.
• Contribute to team efforts and perform other relevant duties as assigned.

Shift & Hours

• Varied shifts between 7:30 AM and 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
• Approximately 7 hours per day, 37.5 hours per week.
• Float between two locations: Orthopedics and Spine departments.

Contract Length

• 14 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Valid Radiology Technologist license in New York (L.R.T).
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of Radiology Technologist experience, including experience within the last year.
• Experience as an X-Ray Technician.

Experience

• 2 years of recent experience as an X-Ray Technician.

Additional Notes

• No prior travel experience required.
