Job Opportunity: Ultrasound Specialist RVT

Location: Austin, Texas

Job Description

• Perform routine and specialized ultrasound procedures as requested by licensed independent practitioners for radiologist interpretation.
• Integrate scientific knowledge, technical skills, patient interaction, and compassionate care to produce diagnostic information.
• Demonstrate detailed understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
• Prepare and maintain exam rooms, ensuring adequate stock and inventory.
• Confirm patient identity and verify pregnancy and informed consent statuses.
• Assess contraindications for procedures including medication risks, patient history, lab results, and preparation.
• Determine type and dose of contrast agents based on patient age, weight, and medical status.
• Provide age-appropriate care from pediatrics to adulthood, with majority pediatric cases and some basic pregnancy scans.
• Work schedule: Monday through Thursday, 9:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with rotation of on-call duties.

Required Qualifications

• Ultrasound Technologist with a minimum of 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year.
• Certification from ARRT.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Experience working with pediatric patients, including pediatric ultrasound technologist experience.
• Work schedule availability Monday–Thursday, 21:00–07:30.

Additional Information

• Broad knowledge of ultrasound physics and procedures appropriate for ages 0 through adulthood.
• Ability to operate and troubleshoot ultrasound equipment, including automated processors and digital imaging systems.
• Must demonstrate professional competencies, excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently following established protocols.
• Must be articulate, courteous, and supportive with patients, families, and healthcare staff.
• Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
• Preferable bilingual skills.
• Basic office equipment use (e.g., fax) required.

• Pediatric ultrasound experience is required.
