Description

Registered Nurse (Advanced Care/Med Surg)

Location: Urbana, Illinois
Employment Type: Clinical Nursing
Shift: Night
Hours: 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Provide professional nursing care to a designated group of patients using the nursing process, current nursing trends, technology, and resources.
Perform unit-specific responsibilities within the scope of service.
Complete initial patient assessments upon admission and develop, implement, and modify individualized plans of care based on patient and family needs.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of nursing care for use by the healthcare team.
Promote patient and employee safety by identifying and addressing hazards and incidents.
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members, including bedside shift reports and hourly rounding.
Collaborate with critical care teams for ICU lite patients and hospitalists for advanced care patients.
Participate in professional development by providing and receiving constructive feedback and identifying personal learning needs.
Fulfill all departmental competency requirements.

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois.
Minimum 1 year of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience within the last year.
Med Surg nursing experience.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
