Description
Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: Urbana, Illinois
Employment Type: Clinical Nursing
Shift: Days, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional nursing care to a group of patients during a designated time frame. Responsibilities include:
- Performing nursing duties within the scope of service and unit standards
- Utilizing nursing process, technology, and resources to deliver patient care
- Completing initial patient assessments and developing/modifying plans of care
- Documenting nursing care accurately for healthcare team use
- Ensuring patient and employee safety by identifying and addressing hazards
- Collaborating and communicating effectively with healthcare team members
- Providing constructive feedback and supporting peer development
- Meeting departmental competency requirements
Department Specific Functions:
- Floating to various inpatient units such as Medical-Surgical, Oncology, Orthopedic, Advanced Care, and ICUs (if applicable)
- Providing direct nursing care and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
- Conducting assessments, nursing diagnoses, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care
- Precepting staff from various units as needed
- Coordinating care to ensure high-quality patient outcomes
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
- Minimum 1 year of Medical-Surgical nursing experience within the last year
- At least 6 months experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience working with Epic electronic health record system
