Radiologic Technologist 2 - Interventional Radiology
Location: Normal, Illinois
Employment Type: Clinical-Allied
Shift: Day
Hours: 10 hours/day, 40 hours/week
Contract Length: 20 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking an experienced Interventional Radiology Technologist to support and grow the Interventional Radiology (IR) program. Responsibilities include assisting Radiology Technologists in becoming competent in IR procedures, collaborating with IR staff in ultrasound and CT, and helping refine processes and workflows related to IR procedures. No on-call required.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer contrast material via existing IV lines as ordered by physicians.
- Anticipate setup and needs for invasive procedures.
- Assist with inventory and supplies management.
- Verify patient and chart identification, diagnosis, and treatment position.
- Compile relevant clinical information (labs, pathology, etc.).
- Administer medication within scope of practice.
- Document procedures accurately and completely.
- Explain procedures to patients and provide care including comfort, support, safety, and confidentiality.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Operate imaging and related equipment competently; perform basic troubleshooting.
- Function as scrub and preceptor during IR procedures.
- Maintain sterile field during procedures.
- Administer and withhold contrast and treatment appropriately.
- Assess patients for allergies.
- Assist physicians during interventional procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Illinois
- Minimum 1 year of Interventional Radiology Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
- Illinois IEMA Radiography License
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certification
- Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology
