Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit

Location: Goldsboro, North Carolina

Hours: 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week
Contract Length: 14 weeks

Job Summary

Provide competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards in a hospital setting. Coordinate and deliver patient care using the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver care to patients with complex problems, addressing physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs.
• Perform bedside point of care testing as required.
• Organize and prioritize patient care based on patient and family needs.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to evaluate and revise plans of care.
• Assess patient and family readiness to learn and use appropriate education materials.
• Anticipate discharge needs and support patient and family advocacy.
• Participate in unit goals, performance improvement, and promote cost-effective care.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment.
• Communicate effectively to ensure continuity of care.
• Engage in professional growth activities and intra/interdepartmental collaboration.
• Stay informed about public policy and regulatory guidelines affecting healthcare.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina.
• Minimum of 1 year of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience within the last year.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing school.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC).

Preferred Qualifications

• BSN or MSN from an accredited nursing school.
