MRI Technologist

Location: Mount Pleasant, South Carolina

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Perform MRI procedures following established protocols under the supervision of certified radiologists.
• Assist radiologists during procedures and supervise student MRI Technologists.
• Ensure patient care and safety during imaging procedures using age-appropriate care.
• Obtain correct written orders for procedures and efficiently manage patient care assignments.
• Utilize imaging equipment efficiently to minimize repeat exams and control supply costs.
• Prepare and instruct patients regarding imaging procedures; assist in obtaining informed consent.
• Communicate effectively with radiologists, patients, and family members, maintaining professionalism.
• Enter accurate orders, diagnoses, and clinical history into computer systems.

Additional Responsibilities

• Adhere to hospital, departmental, and safety policies, including radiation protection following ALARA principles.
• Complete annual mandatory in-services and maintain current licensure.
• Maintain confidentiality of medical and sensitive information.
• Support department goals and participate in projects and quality improvement efforts.
• Assist other imaging team members and departments as needed, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork.
• Take initiative to improve departmental operations and complete required documentation (EDE).

Required Qualifications

• Valid licensure as an MRI Technologist.
• Minimum of 1 year of MRI Technologist experience, including experience within the last year.
• Experience in supervisory roles.
