Description

Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Location

Urbana, Illinois

Job Type

Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
12-hour shifts, approximately 36 hours per week
Contract length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Provide professional nursing care to a group of patients during assigned shifts using the nursing process.
Perform initial patient assessments upon admission and develop, implement, and modify individualized plans of care.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of nursing care.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient care.
Float to various inpatient units including Medical-Surgical, Oncology, Orthopedic, Advanced Care, and Intensive Care Units (ICUs) as needed.
Precept staff from various units when required.
Participate in Unit Nurse Leader Training as needed.
Take responsibility for patient and employee safety by identifying and addressing hazards.
Communicate effectively with colleagues and provide constructive feedback.
Identify personal learning needs and pursue professional development.
Utilize Trauma 1 experience and EPIC electronic health record system during care delivery.

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Illinois
Minimum 1 year of Medical-Surgical nursing experience within the last year
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing
Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients
Experience with Epic electronic health record system
