Location: Goldsboro, North Carolina

Hours: 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week

Job Summary

• Assist radiologists with invasive diagnostic procedures such as needle biopsies, aspirations, and guided needle-wire placement exams for surgery.
• Provide training and standardization to residents on these exams.
• Evaluate contraindications including medications, patient preparation, and patient tolerance.
• Perform ultrasound procedures under general or direct supervision as required.
• Identify sonographic characteristics of normal and abnormal tissues, structures, and blood flow.
• Analyze sonography findings during exams to ensure comprehensive data collection for physician interpretation.
• Recognize abnormalities requiring real-time radiologist observation.
• Capture images and Doppler signals simultaneously, recording data for radiologist review.
• Communicate preliminary diagnostic information to radiologists and referring physicians.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technician.
• Must complete all departmental Sonographer competencies within 12 months of hire.
• Maintain annual modality competencies and complete assigned continuing education to retain Ultrasound Tech II status.
