- Workdays: Monday through Friday
Job Responsibilities
- Deliver planned radiation therapy treatments accurately with minimal supervision.
- Operate treatment units and maintain visual and audible communication with patients during treatment.
- Perform daily and monthly quality assurance (QA) on linear accelerators (linac) and CT equipment.
- Accurately perform Image-Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT), Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT), and portal imaging.
- Conduct CT simulation for radiation therapy following protocols, including use of IV contrast when needed.
- Construct immobilization devices and electron/cerrobend blocks as required.
- Perform respiratory gating and AcQ simulation; use simulation equipment for SBRT.
- Complete procedure verification assessments in MOSAIQ system prior to simulation.
- Lead CT simulation training for therapists, including QA tasks and mold room duties.
- Manage MOSAIQ treatment management system: treatment calendar, patient schedules, prescriptions, images, and documentation.
- Verify physics and physician treatment planning parameters.
- Attend weekly chart rounds and coordinate inpatient transportation access.
- Follow all department policies, safety standards, and radiation protection principles (ALARA).
- Operate CT on rails for IGRT delivery and create IGRT documentation and shift tracking in MOSAIQ.
- Maintain accurate daily treatment records and monitor units; recognize and document treatment plan changes.
- Report equipment malfunctions related to patient treatment promptly.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Radiation Therapist license in New Jersey
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification and registration
- Minimum of 1 year of Radiation Therapist experience within the last year
