Interventional Rad Specialist - Travel Position
Location: Houston, Texas

Job Description
- Perform routine and specialized interventional radiographic procedures as requested by licensed independent practitioners for radiologist interpretation.
- Serve as a liaison between patients, radiologists, and support team members.
- Integrate scientific knowledge, technical skills, patient interaction, and compassionate care to produce diagnostic information.
- Maintain high accuracy in radiographic positioning and exposure techniques.
- Utilize and enhance knowledge of radiation safety and protection for self, patients, and others.
- Prepare, administer, and document medication activities according to state regulations and institutional policies.
- Demonstrate understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
- Exercise critical thinking, independent professional and ethical judgment.
- Engage in continuing education to improve patient care, public education, knowledge, and technical competence.
- Responsible for patient care, documentation, quality control, and quality improvement.
- Provide training, education, and mentoring to students, technologists, nursing staff, residents, fellows, and others.
- Maintain a safe and hazard-free environment.
- Check exam rooms daily for adequate stock and maintain inventory.
- Confirm patient identity with approved identifiers and verify pregnancy and informed consent status.
- Assess contraindications for procedures including medication risks, patient history, lab results, and preparation.
- Determine type and dose of contrast agent based on patient age, weight, and medical status.
- Anticipate and respond to patient needs throughout the encounter.
Schedule
- 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each (40 hours/week)
- Rotating day off each week
- Shift hours: 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Required Qualifications
- Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Texas
- Minimum 3 years of experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist, including experience within the last year
- Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Completion of a formal diagnostic radiology program
- Radiology Technologist experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Vascular Interventional (VI) certification preferred
- Pediatric interventional radiology experience preferred
