Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room (OR) - Travel

Location: Summit, New Jersey
Contract Length: 8 weeks (53 days rounded to nearest week)
Shift: 7:00 PM – 8:00 AM

Job Overview

• Provide competent nursing care to surgical patients across the continuum of care, including pre-operative and postoperative assessment and education.
• Perform thorough, systematic, and accurate patient assessments for all age groups (Pediatric to Geriatric).
• Demonstrate knowledge of surgical conditions, procedures, anesthesia types, and related equipment.
• Support perioperative team by prioritizing and directing patient care based on patient needs and condition changes.
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation of nursing processes, patient progress, and education.
• Use emergency equipment and follow emergency procedures as needed.
• Promote patient and family-centered care with professionalism, courtesy, and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA.
• Follow National Patient Safety Goals, including Universal Protocol and patient identification using two identifiers.
• Demonstrate safe transfer techniques and proper body mechanics.
• Support timely completion and evaluation of Pre Admission Testing (PAT) orders.
• Must be able to scrub and circulate in the OR.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New Jersey
• Minimum 1 year of Operating Room (OR) nursing experience, with experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
