Description

Registered Nurse - Renal Unit

Location: Cincinnati, Ohio
Employment Type: Staffing - Supplier Sourced
Contract Length: 8 weeks


Unit Description

  • 24-bed medical/surgical unit specializing in kidney disease care, including kidney transplant patients.
  • Care provided for patients undergoing living related, cadaveric, or paired exchange kidney transplants.
  • Nursing staff trained in peritoneal dialysis (manual and cycler methods).
  • Participation in specialized pharmacologic research studies under nephrologists and transplant surgeons.
  • On-site outpatient kidney transplant clinic for ongoing episodic care.
  • Also cares for general medical/surgical patients with common diagnoses.
  • Remote telemetry monitoring available for 8 beds as needed.
  • Dynamic environment supporting career growth.

Shift Details

  • 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (3x12s)
  • Every third weekend and holiday commitments required
  • Floating to other units required

Required Qualifications

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Ohio.
  • Knowledge and skills to provide age- and culturally-specific patient care and education.
  • Effective communication skills with peers and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Commitment to continuing professional growth and maintaining competence.
  • Ability to accept and implement change and work in a culturally diverse environment.
