Job Opportunity: Endodontic Dental Assistant

Location: Springfield, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Clinical
Work Hours: 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week
Contract Length: Approximately 55 weeks (3843 days)


Job Summary

As an Endodontic Dental Assistant, you will support root canal and related treatments by preparing treatment rooms, assisting the endodontist during procedures, and providing patient care and administrative support.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments, maintaining strict infection control.
  • Assist the endodontist during root canal and related procedures (e.g., suction, irrigation, passing instruments).
  • Take and process dental radiographs/CBCT scans.
  • Review patient histories and accurately document treatment notes.
  • Educate and support patients before, during, and after procedures, including providing clear post-operative instructions.
  • Coordinate scheduling, referrals, and follow-up communication with patients and referring dentists.
  • Manage supplies and equipment, including inventory ordering and upkeep of endodontic materials.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and safety regulations.
  • Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Dental Assistant.
  • Recent Dental Assistant experience within the last year.
