Cardiovascular Invasive Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech 2)

Location: Peoria, Illinois

Job Summary

Assist cardiologists in performing invasive and diagnostic/interventional cardiac, vascular, and electrophysiologic (EP) procedures. Responsibilities include technical hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation, operation of specialized imaging and electrical equipment, patient care during procedures, and collaboration with healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with invasive coronary, vascular, and EP diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
• Set up and operate electrical/imaging equipment and computers.
• Interpret hemodynamic and procedural results.
• Operate monophasic and biphasic defibrillators.
• Communicate effectively with patients to reduce anxiety during procedures.
• Recognize and assist with anesthesia needs for sedated or anesthetized patients.
• Collaborate with research staff on laboratory-based projects.
• Train and mentor team members.
• Maintain and troubleshoot equipment; ensure safety and proper function daily.
• Manage digital archiving of patient images and reports.
• Maintain aseptic technique; prepare sterile fields and instruments.
• Assist in passing sterile guidewires, catheters, and other devices.
• Accurately interpret EKGs and alert physicians to irregularities.
• Report significant observations and document care provided.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Illinois
• Minimum 3 years of Interventional Radiology Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
• Radiology Technologist experience
• Associate’s Degree in a related field or Certificate of completion from a Radiology Program
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• ARRT registration

Work Hours

• Day shift: 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM

No prior travel experience is required for this position.
