Cardiovascular Sonographer

Location: Goldsboro, North Carolina
Employment Type: Clinical-Allied
Shift: Days
Hours: 8 hours/day, 40 hours/week
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Deliver pre-procedure and post-procedure patient care, including patient assessment and emergency cardiac care (CPR required).
• Assist with post-procedure patient transport as needed.
• Ensure ultrasound equipment is calibrated, maintained daily, and perform quality assurance monitoring. Troubleshoot and report equipment issues.
• Generate ultrasound images of the heart and vascular structures.
• May provide staff training and education.
• Monitor and record patient information, maintain report storage and data systems, and prepare necessary reports.
• Prepare procedure room and equipment for daily use and ensure efficient room turnover between procedures.

Required Qualifications

Education

• Completion of a twelve (12) month ultrasound program

Certifications & Licensure

• Valid Cardiac Sonographer license in North Carolina
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• One of the following cardiac sonographer certifications required:

  • RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer) through ARDMS
  • RCS, ACS, or RCCS certification through CCI

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Cardiac Sonographer, including experience within the last year

Additional Information

• This position involves performing outpatient echocardiograms.
