Registered Nurse (RN) - Arizona, Eloy

Job Summary

• Provide comprehensive nursing care including executing provider orders, administering medications, and assisting in patient examinations and treatments.
• Apply nursing and supervisory techniques in the care, treatment, and referrals of inmates/residents.
• Perform technical and clinical procedures within scope of education and licensure.
• Attend sick calls with physicians, prepare examination rooms, operate pill call, dispense medication, and document accordingly.
• Assess new or ill/injured inmates/residents and refer to emergency care as needed.
• Perform emergency procedures and coordinate with providers for treatment orders.
• Supervise licensed vocational/practical nursing staff and non-licensed medical staff.
• Monitor inpatient hospitalizations for early releases when appropriate.
• Maintain confidentiality and security of all medical records.
• Assist with review and documentation of medical services and monitor catastrophic illnesses.
• Audit pharmacy use for formulary adherence and comply with pharmacy laws, especially controlled substances.
• Observe and record inmate/resident behavior and inspect medical units for contraband.
• Provide health counseling and education individually or in groups.
• Prepare and maintain various medical and operational records and reports.
• Interpret medical, legal, and regulatory documents.
• Support accreditation processes by providing efficient and appropriate medical services.
• Prepare safety and accident reports and respond to serious incidents and emergencies.

Contract Length

• 40 weeks initial duration with potential to extend.

Shift

• Day shift.
• 36-hour guarantee with open availability required per scheduling policy.

Required Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Arizona.
• Professional nursing experience preferred: minimum 1 year.

Additional Information

• Must use sound independent judgment while following corporate, facility, and correctional policies.
• Maintain good working relationships with facility staff, nursing staff, contract providers, and outside agencies.
• Ability to attend court hearings and assist with legal processes related to medical services may be required.
