Medical Lab Tech Travel Opportunity - Wisconsin

Job Summary

• Perform laboratory procedures independently using established protocols with minimal supervision.
• Responsible for quality control, instrument maintenance, specimen procurement, and processing.
• Perform timely blood collection to ensure availability of test results.
• Interpret and verify test results, recognizing and investigating abnormal or inconsistent results.
• Notify leadership immediately of potential problems to avoid compromising patient care.
• Prioritize and multitask to complete assignments timely, adjusting to fluctuating workloads.
• Maintain clean and organized workstations.
• Utilize LIS, EMR, and other tools for special projects as assigned.
• Communicate delays, issues, or potential problems promptly to leadership.
• Perform and document quality control procedures and corrective actions.
• Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation, including troubleshooting and documenting issues.
• Participate actively in training students and new employees; assist in curriculum development.
• Complete all required competency assessments and follow performance improvement plans as needed.
• Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Address customer inquiries and concerns thoroughly and professionally.
• Assist in error detection, investigation, documentation, and suggest process improvements.
• Provide evidence of continuing education participation annually.

Required Qualifications

• Medical Lab Technician with at least 2 years of experience.
• Medical Lab Technician experience within the last year.
• An Associate's degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technology, which includes an internship at an affiliated laboratory and is required within 2 months of hire, or combined military experience and training that aligns with CLIA and CAP requirements.

Work Schedule

• Second shift (shift times vary): 11:00 AM – 5:30 PM, 1:00 PM – 9:30 PM, or 1:30 PM – 10:00 PM.
• Includes weekends and holidays.
• 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week.

Contract Length

• Approximately 14 weeks.

This position requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication in a clinical laboratory setting.
