EEG Technologist 1

Location: Urbana, Illinois
Employment Type: Clinical-Allied
Shift: Day (Multiple shift options available: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM, 12:30 PM - 8:00 PM, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM)
Hours: 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Perform all types of EEGs including ambulatory, bedside, electrical cerebral silence, and standard lab EEGs.
• Provide findings, results, and descriptive analysis according to facility policies.
• Clean and disinfect equipment using appropriate solutions.
• Follow infection control policies.
• Document data accurately in patient charts and lab files.
• Explain tests and procedures to patients to obtain optimal results.
• Notify Neuroscience physician for grossly abnormal EEG tracings.
• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, providing age-appropriate instructions and explanations.
• Troubleshoot equipment and coordinate repair services as needed.

Required Qualifications

Education

• High School Diploma or GED OR 2 years of hands-on EEG/EMU experience.

Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.

Experience

• Minimum of 1 year of EEG Technologist experience within the last year, including performing electrical cerebral silence EEGs.
