Speech-Language Pathologist - Rehab Inpatient
Location: Urbana, Illinois
Employment Type: Clinical Allied Health
Shift: Day
Hours: 8 hours/day, 40 hours/week
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Evaluate and treat patients of all ages in a rehabilitation inpatient setting.
- Serve as a clinical resource and role model for staff and students.
- Collect and integrate case history information from patients, families, caregivers, teachers, and other professionals.
- Conduct speech and language pathology assessments using appropriate evaluation procedures and materials.
- Develop and implement individualized plans of care with measurable goals.
- Collaborate with patients and relevant others in treatment planning.
- Use standardized outcome measures and instrumental evaluations to assess functional performance.
- Modify treatment approaches based on patient behavior and progress.
- Complete documentation according to regulatory and organizational standards.
- Communicate patient status, recommendations, and next level of care needs with the medical team.
- Provide education and family training throughout the rehabilitation process.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Speech-Language Pathologist license in Illinois.
- Master’s Degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences, Communication Sciences, or a related field.
- Minimum of 1 year of Speech-Language Pathologist experience within the last year.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Experience with standardized outcomes measurement.
Schedule & Additional Information
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
- Potential for limited weekend coverage, with compensatory time off if weekend shifts are worked.
- Possible cross-coverage responsibilities in acute care settings.
