Registered Nurse (RN) - Travel Assignment

Location: Mason, Tennessee
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights
Hours: 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week (36-hour guarantee)

Job Summary

• Provide comprehensive nursing care including executing provider orders, medication administration, and assisting in patient examinations and treatments.
• Apply nursing and supervisory techniques in the care and treatment of inmates/residents.
• Attend sick calls with the physician, prepare patients for examination, and operate medication distribution (pill call).
• Assess new or ill/injured inmates/residents and refer to emergency care as needed.
• Perform emergency procedures and coordinate professional medical services with contract personnel.
• Monitor inpatient hospitalizations for early releases when appropriate.
• Supervise licensed vocational/practical nursing staff and non-licensed medical staff.
• Maintain confidentiality and security of medical records.
• Assist with medical file reviews, pharmacy audits, and compliance with controlled substance laws.
• Provide health counseling and education individually or in groups.
• Prepare and maintain medical and operational records and reports.
• Support accreditation efforts by providing appropriate medical services.
• Respond to incidents, accidents, and emergencies according to policy.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Minimum of 1 year of correctional nursing experience, with correctional experience within the last year.

Additional Information

• Must follow facility scheduling policies.
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
