Description

Occupational Therapist

Job Overview

Location: Urbana, Illinois
Setting: Acute care
Shift: Day
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
Hours: 40 per week
Contract length: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

Valid Occupational Therapist license in Illinois
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy
Experience working with Neonate or Pediatric patients
Experience in an inpatient setting

Key Responsibilities

Evaluate and treat patients of all ages
Develop and adjust plans of care based on patient response and evidence
Perform patient examinations and screening to determine therapy needs
Educate patients, families, caregivers, students, and other healthcare providers
Document evaluations, treatment plans, and patient responses
Collaborate with the care team and provide discharge and equipment recommendations
Supervise COTA and rehabilitation technicians as allowed by regulation

Work Environment

Inpatient opportunities at a Level 1 trauma center
Includes an inpatient rehab unit with a primarily neuro-focused caseload
Acute OT caseload is approximately 170 patients
