Cardiac Sonographer Travel Job - Minnesota, Mankato
Job Summary
- Perform complete echocardiographic studies using all cardiac echo imaging modalities to obtain comprehensive patient data.
- Document patient data and echo exam information accurately using Echo Information Management System and other computer applications.
- Function independently with critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Collaborate with cardiac sonographers, echocardiographers, physicians, and team members to assist in interpreting echocardiographic findings.
- Assist in orientation, training, and education of trainees, students, and visitors in Cardiovascular Services.
- Participate in stress lab and stress echo lab procedures.
- Available for 24-hour on-call coverage with a 30-minute response time.
- Provide care for patients across all age groups, from neonates to geriatrics.
- Demonstrate flexibility in learning all equipment, imaging specialties, and echocardiography procedures.
- Follow sterile procedures and isolation precautions to avoid exposure to radiation, infectious hazards, and sharp instruments.
- Demonstrate proficiency in required competencies.
- Physical demands include frequent walking, standing, pushing, pulling, reaching above shoulder level, and occasional twisting and turning.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills required.
- Must have normal hearing and good visual acuity.
Contract Details
- Length: 13 weeks
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, varying shifts between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM
- Hours: 40 hours per week
- No weekends or call required during regular shifts (on-call is separate)
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Cardiac Sonographer, with experience within the last year
- Experience working with both adult and pediatric patients
- Associate’s degree
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) through ARDMS OR Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) through CCI
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Additional Information
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with co-workers, physicians, and healthcare professionals at all levels
- Must be able to tolerate physical demands of the role
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required
