• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week

Job Summary

• Provide professional nursing care and management to patients using the nursing process.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
• Assess patient status through interviews, observation, and physical assessments.
• Use evidence-based practices and protocols to achieve expected patient outcomes.
• Evaluate and document patient progress continuously throughout the shift.
• Modify care plans as needed based on patient evaluation.
• Perform patient bedside lab testing and specimen collection following provider orders and lab policies.
• Troubleshoot technical equipment issues and promote patient and staff safety, including proper use of lift equipment.
• Advocate for patients and communicate effectively with physicians and healthcare team members.
• Participate in teaching and mentoring team members and patients/families, adapting strategies to individual needs.
• Prioritize work based on patient condition changes and assignment demands.
• Demonstrate critical thinking and independent judgment in clinical decision-making.
• Maintain professional accountability and pursue ongoing self-development.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Illinois
• Minimum 3 years of Med Surg nursing experience
• Med Surg experience within the last year
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
