Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery

Location: Urbana, Illinois
Employment Type: Clinical Nursing
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
Hours per Week: 36 hours (12-hour shifts)

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional nursing care to a group of patients during a designated time frame. Responsibilities include patient assessment, care planning, implementation of nursing interventions, and documentation. The RN ensures patient and employee safety, communicates effectively with the healthcare team, and supports professional development among peers.

Department-Specific Responsibilities

• Provide care to inpatient obstetric patients.
• Monitor fetal well-being.
• Administer medications specific to obstetric patients.
• Educate patients within the obstetric population.
• Participate in intrapartum care of patients and newborns during labor, delivery, and surgical delivery.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Illinois.
• Minimum 3 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience, including experience within the last year.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• ACLS certification.
• NRP certification.
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system.
