Registered Nurse (RN) - Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)

Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, includes 2 call shifts on a 30-day schedule
Hours: 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week

Job Description

• Provide nursing care to patients with a range of health problems from simple to complex under general supervision.
• Manage an assigned group of patients, documenting responses to nursing interventions and medical treatments.
• Assist physicians with patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures.
• Monitor and obtain physiological data, observe patient conditions, and intervene as necessary.
• Administer medications, regulate and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products.
• Communicate care plans to patients and families during hospitalization and at discharge.
• Make referrals for patient care needs and delegate tasks to support staff.

Required Qualifications

Experience

• Minimum 1 year of PACU (Post Anesthesia Care) nursing experience within the last year.

Education

• Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.

Licenses & Certifications

• Valid RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.

Additional Information

• Must be able to work night shifts and call shifts as scheduled.
