Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Location: Edison, New Jersey
Employment Type: Clinical-Allied
Shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
Hours: 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week
Contract Length: 15 weeks
Job Summary
Provide and administer all aspects of respiratory care therapy and supportive equipment under medical direction and supervision. Responsibilities include:
- Deliver respiratory therapy for patients with cardiopulmonary system deficiencies.
- Assist with intubation and manage ventilator set-up and operation.
- Evaluate patient needs through gathering information, disease education, testing, and collaboration with healthcare professionals.
- Educate patients and caregivers based on identified needs in an understandable manner.
- Foster positive relationships with patients, caregivers, and team members to support care goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Physical requirements: lift, push, and pull a minimum of 5 lbs.; stand for at least 1 hour daily.
- Regular contact with medical personnel and visitors.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in New Jersey
- Minimum of 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
- High school diploma or equivalent
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification
