Job Description

Provide professional nursing care to a group of patients during assigned shifts using the nursing process and current nursing practices.
Perform patient assessments and infant care specific to the obstetrics inpatient unit.
Administer medications as ordered by physicians.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of nursing care in the electronic medical record (EMR).
Develop, implement, and modify individualized patient care plans based on continuous evaluation.
Ensure patient and employee safety by identifying and addressing hazards and incidents.
Communicate effectively with healthcare team members and provide constructive feedback to peers.
Fulfill all departmental competencies and participate in professional development.

Work Schedule

Day shift: 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM (12-hour shifts)
36 hours per week
Must work at least 2 Fridays and 2 Mondays every 6-week schedule period

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
Minimum 3 years of Maternal-Newborn nursing experience, including experience within the last year
Experience in OB/GYN nursing
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing
