Ultrasound Tech II – Holly Springs, North Carolina

Job Summary

• Assist radiologists with invasive diagnostic procedures such as needle biopsies, aspirations, and guided needle-wire placement exams for surgery.
• Provide training and standardization to residents on these exams.
• Evaluate contraindications including medications, patient preparation, and patient tolerance.
• Perform ultrasound procedures under general or direct supervision.
• Recognize sonographic characteristics of normal and abnormal tissues, structures, and blood flow.
• Analyze sonography findings throughout the exam to ensure comprehensive data collection.
• Identify abnormalities requiring radiologist’s real-time scan observation.
• Capture images and Doppler signals for radiologist interpretation.
• Communicate preliminary diagnostic information to radiologists and referring physicians.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Ultrasound Technologist license in North Carolina.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist, including experience within the last year.
• Completion of a twelve (12) month program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography / General Ultrasound or equivalent certificate program.
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) credential.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Experience with GE Healthcare ultrasound equipment.

Schedule

• Monday to Friday, day shift.
• First appointment at 8:30 AM; last appointment at 3:45 PM.
• 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week.

Contract Length

• 13 weeks.
