RN - Emergency Department - Travel

Location: Morristown, New Jersey
Employment Type: Travel Nursing (Clinical Nursing)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: PM (7 PM - 7 AM)
Hours: 12 hours/day, 36 hours/week

Job Summary

Provide competent nursing care in the Emergency Department across the patient lifespan (Pediatric to Geriatric). Perform thorough and systematic patient assessments, deliver direct patient care, and demonstrate knowledge of emergency equipment and procedures. Maintain accurate documentation and uphold professional standards, including patient confidentiality and safety protocols. Educate patients and families regarding procedures and care plans. Support pre-admission testing and perioperative patient care as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New Jersey
• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) experience within the last year
• Minimum 1 year of Critical Care experience
• Minimum 1 year of Cardiac experience
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• PALS certification required (for pediatric ER patients)
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments appropriate to patient age and condition
• Deliver direct patient care and support team-based care delivery
• Maintain complete and accurate nursing documentation, including patient education
• Follow National Patient Safety Goals and use two patient identifiers
• Use safe patient transfer techniques and proper body mechanics
• Individualize care based on surgical procedures and anesthesia type when applicable
• Prioritize patient care and respond to changes in patient condition
• Perform pre-operative and postoperative assessments and education
• Support timely completion and evaluation of Pre Admission Testing (PAT) orders
