Description

Registered Nurse - Renal Unit

Location

  • Cincinnati, Ohio

Job Summary

  • Provide specialized nursing care to patients with kidney disease, including those undergoing kidney transplant.
  • Care is culturally based and age-specific, following the Ohio Nurse Practice Act and ANA code of ethics.
  • Work in a 24-bed medical/surgical unit focused on renal patients, including transplant recipients.
  • Participate in care involving peritoneal dialysis (manual and cycler methods).
  • Support patients involved in pharmacologic research studies under specialist supervision.
  • Unit includes remote telemetry monitoring capability for 8 beds.
  • Care also provided for general medical/surgical patients with common diagnoses.

Contract Length

  • 8 weeks

Shift Details

  • 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (night shift)
  • Every third weekend and holiday commitment required
  • Floating between units required

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Ohio
  • Minimum of 1 year of nephrology experience within the last year
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Work Hours

  • 12 hours per day
  • 36 hours per week
