Description

RN Labor Delivery Operating Room – North Carolina (Raleigh)

Job Summary

Provide competent clinical nursing care in a hospital setting, coordinating and delivering patient care using the nursing process. Responsible for patient assessment, care planning, implementation, evaluation, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver care to patients with complex problems, addressing physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs.
  • Circulate for C-sections and triage for obstetrics (OB).
  • Perform bedside point of care testing as required.
  • Assess patient and family readiness to learn; use patient education materials.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and update care plans.
  • Prioritize tasks and organize care according to patient/family needs.
  • Participate in unit goals, performance improvement, and promote cost-effective, safe care.
  • Maintain awareness of public policy and regulatory guidelines affecting healthcare.
  • Promote a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of nursing experience.
  • Previous Labor & Delivery (L&D) experience required.
  • Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in North Carolina.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers (AHA or ARC).
  • Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (AHA or ARC).
  • Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
  • Current and active Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification (AWHONN or GE).

Education

  • Required: Nursing Diploma, or ADN/ASN from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Preferred: BSN or MSN from an accredited school of nursing.

Work Schedule

  • Night shift
  • 12-hour shifts
  • 48 hours per week

Contract Length

  • 13 weeks
