Registered Nurse – Labor Delivery Recovery Postpartum
Location: Goldsboro, North Carolina
Employment Type: Clinical Nursing
Shift: Nights
Hours: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Provide competent clinical nursing care in a hospital setting, coordinating and delivering patient care using the nursing process. Responsible for patient assessment, care planning, implementation, evaluation, and interdisciplinary collaboration focused on labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum care.
Essential Duties
- Deliver care to patients with complex physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs.
- Circulate for C-sections and triage obstetric patients.
- Perform bedside point of care testing as required.
- Assess patient and family readiness to learn; use patient education materials appropriately.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and update care plans.
- Prioritize and organize care based on patient and family needs, including discharge planning.
- Participate in unit goals, performance improvement, and promote cost-effective care.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment.
- Communicate effectively to ensure continuity of care.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience, with previous Labor & Delivery experience required.
- Licensed Registered Nurse in North Carolina.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers (AHA or ARC).
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (AHA or ARC).
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
- Ability to circulate for C-sections and triage obstetric patients.
Education
- Required: Nursing Diploma OR ADN/ASN from an accredited school of nursing.
- Preferred: BSN or MSN from an accredited school of nursing.
