Registered Nurse (RN) - Cath Lab - Travel

Location: Morristown, New Jersey
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day (7 AM - 8 PM)
Hours: 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week

Job Summary

Provide competent nursing care in the Cath Lab setting, delivering patient-centered care across the continuum from pre-operative to post-operative phases. Perform thorough and systematic assessments for patients ranging from pediatric to geriatric populations. Support the perioperative team by prioritizing and directing patient care based on patient needs and condition changes.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and deliver appropriate care based on growth and development stages.
• Perform direct patient care activities and demonstrate competent clinical skills, including emergency procedures and equipment use.
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation of nursing processes, patient progress, and education.
• Uphold professional practice standards, including adherence to policies, procedures, and confidentiality (HIPAA).
• Promote patient and family satisfaction through professional, courteous, and positive interactions.
• Follow National Patient Safety Goals, including Universal Protocol and patient identification using two identifiers.
• Use safe transfer techniques and proper body mechanics for both patient and self.
• Demonstrate knowledge of surgical patient conditions, procedures, anesthesia types, and equipment.
• Provide patient and family education regarding surgical procedures and instructions, including pre- and post-operative teaching.
• Support timely completion and evaluation of Pre Admission Testing (PAT) orders for surgical patients.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Jersey
• Minimum 2 years of critical care experience
• Minimum 2 years of Cardiac Cath Lab experience, including experience within the last year
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

• Physical requirements as defined by Occupational Safety standards.

This position is ideal for experienced critical care RNs seeking a travel assignment in a Cath Lab environment with a focus on perioperative and surgical patient care.
