Description

Radiology Interventional Technologist

Location

  • Detroit, Michigan

Job Summary

  • Perform invasive radiology procedures under the direction of a Radiologist to aid in evaluating pathological conditions.
  • Prepare patients and explain examination procedures.
  • Assist Radiologist with complex diagnostic invasive procedures.
  • Operate and manually control imaging and physiological monitoring equipment.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media, medications, and IV solutions.
  • Set up sterile equipment and ensure adequate supplies.
  • Assess patient condition before, during, and after procedures.
  • Follow radiation protection principles to minimize exposure.
  • Manage imaging data and documentation in Radiology Information System (RIS) and Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
  • Perform quality assurance and maintain accurate medical records.
  • May assist in training new personnel or students.

Schedule

  • Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
  • Includes a call schedule

Contract Length

  • 13 weeks

Required Education

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Must maintain required hours of continued medical education

Required Certifications & Licenses

  • Healthcare Provider certification (BLS)
  • Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) with an advanced registry in one of the following:
    • Cardiac Interventional Radiography (CI)
    • Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI)
    • Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography (CV)

Required Experience & Skills

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist, with experience within the last year
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system
  • BLS certification
  • ARRT certification in one of the following: Cardiac Interventional Radiography (CI), Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI), or Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography (CV)
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent, or maintenance of required hours of continued medical education

  • Demonstrate professional communication and teamwork standards
