- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week
Job Description
- Perform routine and critical respiratory care procedures under supervision.
- Provide care for Neonatal, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric populations.
- Evaluate patient respiratory care results according to care plans.
- Prepare, test, and maintain respiratory therapy equipment; report malfunctions.
- Disassemble, clean, rinse, dry, and package respiratory equipment.
- Complete assessments on ventilator patients and others receiving respiratory care.
- Obtain and analyze arterial, venous, and capillary blood gases.
- Accurately document care and chart in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Recommend timely interventions and communicate findings to physicians.
- Assist with stocking respiratory care supplies on inpatient units.
- Evaluate patients for respiratory therapy in inpatient units and emergency room.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Care Practitioner license in Illinois
- Minimum of 1 year of Respiratory Care Practitioner experience within the last year
- Associate’s degree in Respiratory Therapy
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
