Description
Respiratory Care Practitioner
Location
- Urbana, Illinois
Contract
- 13 weeks
- Night shift
- 12 hours per day
- 36 hours per week
- No on-call
Required Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Care Practitioner license in Illinois
- Respiratory Care Practitioner (1 year of experience)
- Respiratory Care Practitioner experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- NBRC Certified Respiratory Therapist
- Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and critical respiratory care procedures under supervision
- Care for neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
- Evaluate patient respiratory care results and recommend timely interventions or further treatment/referral
- Prepare, test, clean, maintain, and stock respiratory care equipment and supplies
- Complete assessments on ventilator patients and other respiratory care patients
- Obtain and analyze arterial, venous, and capillary blood gases
- Document respiratory care, patient response, and compliance requirements in the EMR
- Communicate relevant findings in writing to the physician
