Job Description
- Provide professional nursing care to a group of patients during assigned shifts using nursing processes and current best practices.
- Perform initial patient assessments upon admission and develop, implement, and modify individualized care plans in collaboration with providers, patients, and families.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of nursing care.
- Ensure patient and staff safety by identifying, reporting, and correcting hazards.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare team members, patients, families, and visitors to promote a healing environment.
- Provide constructive feedback to peers and engage in ongoing professional development.
- Follow unit-specific procedures and theories related to Emergency Department nursing.
Shift Details
- Night shift: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- 12-hour shifts
- 36 hours per week
- Includes 2 call shifts per 6-week schedule; call shifts are 13 hours with an expectation to be onsite within one hour
- No block scheduling
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Illinois
- Minimum 3 years of Emergency Department nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS certification
- PALS certification
- Experience with Epic
