Registered Nurse - Cath Lab

Location: Chapel Hill, North Carolina

Hours: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
Contract Length: 14 weeks

Job Summary

Provide competent clinical nursing care in a hospital setting, coordinating and delivering patient care using the nursing process.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver care to patients with complex cardiac conditions, including STEMI, pulmonary embolism, cardiogenic shock, ECMO, and advanced cardiac catheterization procedures.
• Perform bedside point of care testing as required.
• Assess patient readiness to learn and use appropriate patient education materials.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to evaluate and plan patient care.
• Organize and prioritize care based on patient and family needs.
• Anticipate discharge needs and support patient and family advocacy.
• Participate in professional growth, unit goals, performance improvement, and cost-effective care initiatives.
• Promote a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment.
• Apply cultural competence and effective communication in patient care planning.
• Utilize research and evidence-based practice to improve care delivery.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina.
• Minimum of 1 year of Cardiac Cath Lab experience, with experience within the last year.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing school.
• Ability to apply research and evidence-based practice in clinical care.

Preferred Qualifications

• BSN or MSN from an accredited nursing school.
