X-Ray Technician (0-2 Years) - Contract

Location: New York, NY
Employment Type: Contract
Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (40 hours/week)
Contract Length: 9 weeks


Job Summary

Operate or oversee radiologic and magnetic imaging equipment to produce diagnostic body images. Prepare patients for radiological procedures while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.


Key Responsibilities

  • Establish rapport with patients to understand and meet service requirements, reducing anxiety through explanations and answering questions.
  • Position patients and adjust immobilization devices and equipment controls for radiological procedures.
  • Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize exposure to patients and staff, including use of beam restrictors and shielding.
  • Follow infection control policies and procedures.
  • Maintain quality and production of radiographs by processing images, observing results, and making adjustments as needed.
  • Document patient care services and exam verifications in records.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on radiology equipment, troubleshoot malfunctions, and coordinate repairs.
  • Manage radiology supplies inventory and anticipate needs.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by adhering to procedures and regulations.
  • Keep professional and technical knowledge current through continuing education and participation in professional activities.
  • Complete yearly Age Specific Competency requirements.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Radiology Technologist license in New York.
  • Radiology Technologist with 0 years of experience.
  • Radiology Technologist experience within the last year.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.

Experience

  • 0 to 2 years of experience as an X-Ray Technician.
  • No prior travel experience required.

Work Hours

  • 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
