X-Ray Technician (2-5 Years) - Contract
Location: New York, NY
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Operate and oversee radiologic and magnetic imaging equipment to produce diagnostic body images. Prepare patients for radiological procedures while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance for patients and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish rapport with patients to understand service needs and reduce anxiety by explaining treatments and answering questions.
- Position patients and adjust immobilization devices and equipment controls for radiological procedures.
- Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize exposure to patients and staff, including use of beam restrictors and shielding.
- Maintain quality and production standards by processing radiographs, observing results, and making adjustments as needed.
- Document patient care services and exam verifications in patient and department records.
- Perform preventive maintenance on radiology equipment, troubleshoot malfunctions, and maintain equipment inventories.
- Monitor and maintain radiology supplies inventory.
- Ensure a safe and clean working environment by following procedures and regulations.
- Maintain professional knowledge through continuing education and participation in professional societies.
- Complete yearly Age Specific Competency assessments.
- Perform other relevant duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Radiology Technician license in New York.
- Minimum 2 years of Radiology Technician experience, including experience within the last year.
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.
- Experience as an X-Ray Technician.
Work Schedule
- Wednesday: 2:00 PM – 8:30 PM
- Thursday: 8:30 AM – 8:30 PM
- Friday: 8:30 AM – 8:30 PM
- Saturday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Approximately 37.5 hours per week, with shifts averaging 7 hours per day.
