Description

Registered Sleep Technologist

Location

  • Detroit, Michigan (may be required to work at multiple sleep lab locations within the region)

Job Summary

  • Perform and oversee complex sleep study procedures and therapeutic interventions, including CPAP and BiPAP titrations
  • Assist technicians with troubleshooting during challenging data acquisition to ensure high-quality polysomnography (PSG) studies
  • Score and tabulate sleep recordings based on established guidelines (sleep stages, respiratory events, limb movements)
  • Generate detailed reports and performance summaries for physician interpretation
  • Maintain compliance with Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technicians (BRPT) Standards of Conduct
  • Work with patients starting at 5 years of age; preference for candidates with experience working with children
  • Receive on-the-job training with Epic electronic health record system

Schedule

  • 4 days per week
  • 10-hour shifts, 7:30 PM to 6:30 AM

Contract Length

  • Approximately 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

  • Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) credential through BRPT
  • Polysomnographer with at least 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • High school diploma or general education development (GED) certificate required
  • Strong knowledge of HFHS Sleep Center Guidelines for Sleep Reliability scoring
  • Ability to perform sleep reliability scoring according to HFHS Sleep Center Guidelines
  • Experience with CPAP titration and troubleshooting

Additional Information

  • Must be able to work at various sleep lab locations as needed
  • Knowledge of CPAP and BiPAP titration and troubleshooting is essential
