Cardiac Cath Specialist

Overview

• Specialty: Cardiac Cath Specialist
• Location: Raleigh, North Carolina
• Schedule: 7:00 AM–7:30 PM, rotating days of the week
• Shift: Days
• Hours: 36 per week
• Contract length: 13 weeks

Role Summary

• Assists physicians with obtaining digital radiographic images of heart and peripheral vessels.
• Supports cardiac catheterization procedures by preparing the room, managing equipment, documenting data, and providing pre-, during-, and post-procedure patient care.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in North Carolina
• Cath Lab Technologist experience within the last year
• 1 year of Cath Lab Technologist experience
• ARRT or RCIS
• Completion of a course training in cardiac catheterization
• Scrubbing experience within a Cath Lab
• Scrubbing experience within an Interventional Lab

Key Responsibilities

• Operate radiographic equipment and set x-ray acquisition parameters
• Practice radiation safety
• Perform daily room preparation, quality checks, inventory, and supply management
• Document patient records, reporting data, charges, image archive information, complications, and variances
• Prepare the scrub table and patient using sterile technique
• Assist with preparation of lines and devices for injectable fluids
• Inject drugs under direct physician supervision and insert IVs
• Operate, inspect, troubleshoot, and perform routine maintenance on cath lab equipment
• Monitor, record, evaluate, and maintain patient information
• Train and educate staff or assign work when serving in a lead role
