Job Description

• Provide professional nursing care to a group of patients during assigned shifts using the nursing process.
• Perform patient assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with providers, patients, and families.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of nursing care.
• Modify care plans based on continuous evaluation.
• Ensure patient and staff safety by identifying, reporting, and correcting hazards.
• Communicate effectively with staff, patients, families, and visitors to promote a healing environment.
• Provide constructive feedback to peers and engage in professional development.
• Fulfill all departmental competency requirements.

Department Specific Functions

• Apply nursing procedures and theories specific to Emergency Department (ED) nursing.
• Participate in trauma-level 2 or higher care (preferred).
• Collaborate with healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes.

Schedule

• Day shift: 11:00 AM – 11:30 PM (12-hour shifts)
• 36 hours per week
• 2 call shifts per 6-week period (13-hour shifts; must be onsite within 1 hour)
• 2-week night rotation required for all travelers
• No block scheduling

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Illinois
• Minimum 3 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• ACLS certification
• PALS certification issued by the American Heart Association
