Surgical Technologist Position - Rochester, Michigan

Job Summary

• Assist the surgical team by handling instruments, supplies, and equipment during general surgical procedures.
• Prepare the operating room by setting up tables, instruments, and supplies according to the surgery type.
• Ensure proper functioning of instruments and equipment; report repairs as needed.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized operating room environment.
• Provide comfort and support to pre-operative patients with sensitivity to their care and privacy.
• Assist Registered Nurses with admitting, transferring, and discharging patients in the OR.
• Participate in ongoing education, audits, and department initiatives.
• May train or precept new Surgical Technologists.
• Respond to emergent situations following established procedures.

Work Schedule

• 3 days per week
• 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
• Total 36 hours per week
• Contract length: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Surgical Technologist experience, including experience within the last year.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain within one month of start date.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Experience working in Labor & Delivery unit.

Preferred Qualifications

• Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Excellent computer skills.

Additional Information

• One week of return-to-office (RTO) allowed.
• Overtime is billable after 48 hours.
• Commitment to safety, infection control, and departmental policies is essential.
