Registered Nurse - Telemetry Stepdown
Location
- Cincinnati, Ohio
Job Summary
Provide specialized nursing care to patients recovering from vascular and electrophysiology procedures in a 28-bed Cardiac Medical Stepdown unit. Care includes patients with acute myocardial infarction (MI), cardiac arrhythmias, syncope, cardiomyopathy, and heart failure. Responsibilities include cardiac monitoring, titration of intravenous medications, and conscious sedation for cardioversions. This role supports culturally and age-specific care in partnership with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
Unit Description
- Cardiac Medical Stepdown/6 South unit
- Focus on recovery post vascular and electrophysiology procedures
- Care for acute MI, arrhythmias, syncope, cardiomyopathy, heart failure
- Cardiac monitoring for all patient populations
- Medication titration and conscious sedation for cardioversions
- All nurses must be ACLS certified and have completed ECG interpretation training
- Suitable for nurses interested in transitioning to ICU settings
Contract Length
- 8 weeks
Shift and Hours
- Night shifts
- Every other weekend
- 12-hour shifts, approximately 36 hours per week
- Stepdown Float: rotating to Cardiovascular Step-Up Unit (CVSU), Cardiopulmonary, Heart and Vascular Step Down, Complex Medical Stepdown, and Cardiology Telemetry Stepdown units
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Ohio
- Minimum 2 years of Cardiac Stepdown nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Telemetry experience
- Stepdown nursing experience
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
